The Fish Market Maui Review
The primary business of The Fish Market Maui is selling fresh fish, therefore one side of the store is set up with all kinds of fresh catches. On the other side is a prepared food counter, where they serve up the best local seafood offerings such as poke, ceviche, and grilled catch of day. They have bar seating throughout the store and a few tables set up outside so you can enjoy the great Hawaiian weather.
It was recommended to me that I just had to eat there, so I dropped in and tried their fresh ahi poke, which comes mild, medium or spicy, and it was delicious! It’s prepared right in front of you and the ahi tuna is sashimi grade-very fresh and delicate. I also ordered the Ahi Tuna Melt and my friend got the Crab Cake Sandwich. The Tuna Melt was unlike any other I’ve had, probably because the tuna was super tender and chunky, the onions, lettuce and tomato all added crispness to the sandwich and complimented the creamy tuna. The Crab Cake was also rich, delicious, and equally tasty. I also decided to buy some local butterfish and grill it poolside at my condo, and it turned out absolutely fabulous! Like the name “butterfish” suggests, it tasted just like butter and melted in my mouth. It was so delicious! My friend bought some small cuts of ahi tuna, wahoo, and shrimp to skewer up, and they were all very fresh and tasted delicious grilled as well.
