Duke’s Beach House Review
On our last visit to Maui, my husband and I were celebrating our third wedding anniversary. As a special treat, we decided to have dinner at Duke’s. The atmosphere there was lively and energetic while the open air design of the restaurant let us feel the warm ocean breeze. Tiki torches added a cool Polynesian warmth. The menu was awesome; with locally sourced ingredients offering dishes such as Poke Rolls, Crab and Macnut Wontons, Sautéed Macnut Crusted Fresh Fish, and Mango BBQ Ribs.
When our waiter arrived (almost immediately after being seated), he was very personable and knowledgeable about each dish and didn’t seem to mind my numerous inquiries! The Special of the night – a fish combination – sounded so good we couldn’t resist.
We started out with a Layered Seafood Cocktail, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was beautifully presented and we took our time savoring everything (including the warm sourdough and sweet taro rolls). Never, at any point, did we feel rushed or pressured to hurry through the meal.
The highlight of the whole evening was a big surprise. Our waiter brought a slice of Hula Pie, complete with a glittering sparkler for our anniversary, courtesy of the restaurant! It turned out to be a very romantic, memorable and extremely enjoyable experience. I am so glad we chose to dine at Duke’s Beach House, its awesome!
