Aloha Mixed Plate Review
Aloha Mixed Plate is located right on the waterfront at 1285 Front Street in Lahaina, and that’s one of the main reasons I decided to check them out… that and the fact that I really like the mixed plate idea. The mixed plate is very Hawaiian; it stems from the old days when the workers in the sugar cane fields shared their lunches and everyone got a bit of each other’s food. Nowadays a mixed plate comes with two scoops of white rice and a scoop of potato-mac salad along with whatever main ingredients you choose.
At Aloha Mixed Plate I found a very comprehensive menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with the mixed plate choices. They were offering 13 different mixed plates including every kind of meat, fish, or seafood or combination thereof – making it a very difficult choice! In the end I opted for the official “Aloha Mixed Plate” because it had shoyu chicken, fresh fish, and teriyaki beef. It was absolutely delicious – tasty, fresh and tender – and it was all served up with a great view of the ocean. The service was friendly, fast, and efficient – the food tasty and plentiful. I will definitely be making a return visit. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, and they have Happy Hour from 2:00-6:00 p.m. daily. Check out their menu online at AlohaMixedPlate.com or give them a call 808-661-3322.
